About

Internship Experience

Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health
Canton, Ohio

My year-long internship at C&A allowed me to explore and learn much about the skills necessary for a career in PR, marketing, and event planning.  I enjoyed working with this organization that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and youth throughout the Stark County area.

The Internship Pieces page provides examples of projects I completed during this internship.

Education

University of Mount Union
Alliance, Ohio

Public Relations major
Chinese minor

Graduation: May 2021 (Magna Cum Laude)

Involvement:

Public Relations Student Society of America

I began serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of PRSSA in August 2019. At that time, the organization was barely recognized by the student body and consisted of only six members (myself included). Since then, my fellow board members and I have tripled the number of members and have created a notable presence on campus and in our community through a word-of-mouth and social media based advertising campaign. Most recently, we began collaborating with other small, northern Ohio chapters to provide virtual networking opportunities.

Actively participating in this group has helped me develop strong communication skills, utilize new technology to involve more people, and plan successful events and activities.

University of Mount Union Choral Program

Music has always been an especially important part of my life. I love feeling the rhythm of a song, contemplating the meaning of lyrics, or exploring musical trends from other cultures and times. More than anything, I love to sing– especially within the choral program at Mount.

My involvement in this program has taught me how to listen to and actively work within a community and connect with others.

Skills and Interests

I love that Public Relations enables me to wear multiple hats and use skills such as scriptwriting, video editing, graphic design, copywriting, and web design. My naturally curious and creative nature lends itself well to this idea.
